MALAYSIA. Terrorism is increasingly viewed as something acceptable if it means that you are able reach your goals. And women and children are being radicalized at a quick pace.
The Malaysian Foreign Ministry published a survey where 2 000 college students were asked about their views on terrorism. It was defined as an act where civilians were killed. 7% of the students didn’t think it was immoral at all to act like that. 21% felt that terrorism is an effective strategy to achieve an objective. The same survey showed: Indonesia – 24.24%, Philippines – 23.78, Singapore – 30.95%, Thailand – 31.81%.
At the same time women and children are being radicalized by ISIS and turned from symphatizers to active terrorists. The goal is to carry out attacks in Malaysia and to instigate others. The authorities believe that the latter is already taking place. The police are on alert due to the rising threat.
