DENMARK. Imam Mundhir Abdallah in the Masjid Al-Faruq mosque in Copenhagen have been prosecuted for saying that all jews should be killed. This is the first time the so called imam-law from 2017 are used. It’s already illegal to call for the use of violence, but this new law makes it criminal to express support for acts of violence and polygamy.
It was during a sermon at the friday prayer that the imam said:
The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslims fight the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslims, O Abdullah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (the Boxthorn tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.
(related by al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Since this is an important teaching in islam it leads to the question how muslims and the west should handle this. How do we regulate a religious request to use violence and that even targets specific groups? And how come that the peacefu, perfect saviour Muhammed said awful things like this?
This is something we must have an exhaustive discussion about before the things get even worse, because jews are already being mistreated by muslims in our countries. So I hope this will start the debate.
And here you can see an excerpt of the imams sermon. He seems like a lovely person. Very loving and peaceful.
